Database integration

Using the Environ software the Virtual Outlooks team help clients set up query access to servers containing database information on anything from crime statistics to population figures. Users can then access information specific to the location they are working with a mouse click. The 3D terrain becomes a powerful tool in visualising complex data and improving analysis.

How it works

Environ Communicator queries a specified database using the geographic location of an object or feature within the 3D terrain. The database returns a list of available data for that location and information on the servers which can process them. Environ Communicator will then display the available information. The user can then select their desired information. Environ Communicator sends that query to the relevant server and displays the results which are then displayed within the 3D terrain.
